What would you do with two additional hours a day? Would it make a difference in your life?
I don’t know about you, but my answer to the above questions would be that I’d likely fill them with more things to do. I am not sure it would mean less on my ongoing “to do list” or that I would necessarily get more sleep. We now live in a world where we are constantly bombarded with images and micro decisions and the information on our laptop computers contain more than you could find in a library full of books (literally). Wouldn’t a couple of extra hours a day just bring more to do or manage?
Whether you agree with that or not, it doesn’t really matter. We can’t simply add more time to our days, weeks, months, or years. We all have the same 24 hours a day and 168 hours a week to work with.
For many, it is a constant daily struggle to manage everything they need or want to get done. We are exposed to more choices than ever. With that comes more decisions that have to made – every day. Many carry work with them in their pockets and purses in the form of a smart phone.
Work/life balance has become one of those buzz phrases that many are striving to maintain or simply achieve in any given day. Some feel they just want to escape it all (and some do).
Effective time management is more important than ever. It is essential for the health of businesses and all of us as individuals.
Frank, relying on years of study of time management, including the expertise provided from neuroscientists, psychologists and business leaders, has developed a training module and tools that make a real difference in how organizations and individuals manage their time and energy. Effective time management can have a monumental impact on organizations and the personal lives of individuals.
Frank learned the value of effective time management through his own experiences. He has had his own struggles with work/life balance. In one particular year he had four teenagers at home and was working 60 plus hours a week in a career that always demanded more of his time. He also managed a large staff who worked in various offices and witnessed first hand the struggles some had to “keep all the balls in the air”.
In this context, over the years, Frank has studied time management and put what he has learned into real life practice. He has provided training and coaching on it at worksites, for individuals and at conferences.
What he has learned and can provide in training and coaching is far beyond managing time and a to do list. It is also about managing our mental, emotional, and physical energy. It recognizes that we are all individuals with our own unique responsibilities in life and work. We each have our own “energy sappers” and “energy rejuvenators” and ways to “recharge”.
Frank offers interactive training for workgroups in time management in a session that is 90 – 120 mins in length. This is ideally provided in person; however, it can be by virtual if requested. He also offers one on one coaching on time management. Below is a form to request either of these. You don’t have to complete the form, you can simply email Frank at Mediator@franknanderson.ca
For both of these, Frank will have a short questionnaire to be completed by the person or organization making the request and one for the participants.
