Frank has over 25 twenty-five years of experience working in Labour Relations in British Columbia.

Frank is known as an effective communicator and problem solver, with high levels of emotional intelligence and analytical ability. Frank has built a strong reputation with employers, arbitrators, union representatives, and human resource professionals alike. He is known as someone who always strives to find pragmatic solutions to workplace disputes, that are good for both parties.

While his work history is primarily from the union side, he comes with recommendations for the role of neutral mediator from employer representatives, arbitrators, and mediators (both retired and active).

His work history includes being the chief negotiator in various sectors, including highway maintenance, health care, the hospitality sector, and government. He has been the union’s counsel on labour arbitrations in those, and other, sectors.

Frank has managed a large staff of professionals as a member of a union’s senior management team.  He has deep expertise in high level labour negotiations, occupational health and safety (OHS), disability management, union organizing, labour arbitration, and workplace grievance settlements.

He has served as the “parliamentarian” for various unions at their conventions. In these roles and others, his ability to be a “calm person at the helm” during often intense disputes is well recognized and sought after.

Frank is passionate about helping parties find solutions to their disputes.

“I have always endeavoured to find solutions to workplace disputes with workers and employers. While not every dispute can be resolved with mediation, I have found that even disputes where the parties seem deeply entrenched, or far apart, one can find an agreement through mediation. Mediation can be effective in avoiding larger, unnecessary frictions, that can take years to repair.”

Frank’s personal interests include coaching organizations and individuals with proven time management strategies. He is an avid runner, backcountry hiker and father of five adult children. He is also a writer of fiction, having self published two novels to date.
